Chełkowska, Francisca (Fanny) Apollonia (1857-1886) Małe Turze, the daughter of Adalbert Chełkowski & Catharina Stolc, left Małe Turze with older sister Veronica & husband Franz Annis for Hamburg. Here they set aboard the “Reichstag” 10 May 1874, arriving at Port Nicholson, Wellington, 6 Aug 1874. Listed aboard was—Francisca Chelkowski 17 and travelled south to Waihola in the South Island. She was soon followed by her godparents, Johann & Apollonia Klass who went to the newly established settlement of Greytown (Allanton). Fanny, a domestic servant, m. (22 Apr 1882) House of Franz Annis, Waihola, Frank Klimeck, the son of Mathias Klimek & Anna Smolińska. Family—Waihola; Felix (1884-1961) & Annie (1885-1968). Tragically Francisca died of apoplexy 2 Oct 1886 aged 29 and is buried at the Waihola Cemetery behind the Annis family plot. A brother, Johann Jacob Cherkowski, immigrated to America with his wife Barbara Rozanowska and children aboard the “Belgenland”. They departed from Antwerp, Belgium, arriving at Philadelphia, Pensylvania 14 Aug 1891. The family resided in Milwaukee, Winsconsin, USA
